Kristen and Erik’s wedding was a true treat for us!! We knew they’d be awesome to work with and would have so many fun moments to capture after we sat down with them for a brunch consultation at a nearby Flying Biscuit. Erik could not stop smiling from ear to ear, and Kristen gushed about how they both fell for each other! All the while they were down-to-earth and easy to get to know.
Kristen made it clear to us that she honestly didn’t think she’d be in another serious relationship; but as soon as she met Erik, she just knew he was a different kind of guy! They pretty much hit it off from the jump: while they were supposed to be practicing brass instruments (Erik actually teaches music at a local school), they spent more time enjoying each other’s company and laughing instead. 😅 From there, they just started hanging out a lot and dated officially for a year and a half before Erik proposed.
As Kristen is originally from Louisiana, and since Erik is proud to have Viking in his background, they wanted their wedding reception to reflect this diversity with as much Mardi Gras and Norse influences as possible! It was really cool to be able to showcase how seamlessly they blended these two divergent themes together, and it enhanced their unique celebration so much.
Their ceremony took place at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception (downtown Atlanta’s second oldest structure). Their reception was on the other side of Atlanta at 5 Seasons Westside (what an amazing selection of beer!). Erik thoughtfully arranged the awesome live music, played by their super talented friends. 🎶 They felt it was only fitting that they’d incorporate music into their big day as this is how they originally met!! The more personality, the better. 👏
We absolutely loved filming their family-oriented wedding because there were so many awesome and special moments for us to capture throughout the entire day!! Congrats, Kristen and Erik ❤️
